Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Multi-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of login security to your university account by verifying your sign-in via another device.
Remember to keep your preferred MFA method, such as the Authenticator app on your phone, available whenever you log in.
Need further help? Read our guidance on:
- setting up your MFA methods. You should set up at least two MFA methods so you can access your account if you’re unable to use your first MFA method
- changing your device or contact number
- using MFA when you do not have an active data or phone signal connection
If you are unable to use your chosen primary or secondary Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) method, you can gain temporary access to set up a new method yourself without contacting IT Support.
Please note this service is available to undergraduate and postgraduate taught students. Staff and postgraduate research students should book an appointment for over-the-phone help with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
