HCT393 - Leadership in Health and Social Care
The module aims to provide health and social care professionals with insight into the range of leadership theories and approaches which they can apply to increasingly changing and complex health and social care systems and organisations.
Issues include policy and global impacts on healthcare, influencing organisational change and strategies and approaches to improve care, services and systems. Students’ critical thinking, complex decision-making and problem-solving skills will be encouraged, all with a focus on improvement and self-development.
This module aims to equip health professionals wishing to practice at an advanced level with the specific skills and knowledge to lead effectively in a range of contexts and to develop new roles and services. With a range of learning approaches, they will be facilitated to develop critical thinking and problem solving through group work, workshops and experiential learning opportunities as well as informative lectures.
