COVID-19  Response

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound affect on our day to day life in the School of Healthcare Sciences.

The pandemic has caused the university to rethink how as a School, we can support the social and health crisis the coronavirus pandemic has highlighted. We are determined to play a part in rescuing, reviving and renewing the economic, cultural and social hopes of Cardiff and throughout Wales.

In April 2021, along with five other centres across Wales, the Wales Centre for Evidence Based Care were contracted by the Wales COVID-19 Evidence Centre  to provide 50 rapid reviews per year answering priority questions for policy and practice in Wales

COVID-19 Critical Care Training

School staff provided training to over 700 NHS staff from the Cardiff and Vale and Aneurin Bevan University Health Boards, to support the COVID-19 crisis.

A collaboration of nursing academic staff from the School of Healthcare Sciences nursing staff, Aneurin Bevan Health Board and University of Namibia worked together to produce teaching and education materials on Oxygen Therapy.
