Brexit and devolution

Two years ago, the Welsh Government published its ‘Brexit and Devolution’ policy paper, arguing that UK withdrawal from the European Union should lead to significant changes in how the UK works, including the creation of a UK Council of Ministers and a move towards a shared governance approach by the four administrations.

To mark the two-year anniversary of the publication ‘Brexit and Devolution’, Cardiff University’s Wales Governance Centre will host a discussion event featuring an address by Jeremy Miles AM, the Welsh Government’s Counsel General and Brexit Minister.

Chaired by the WGC’s Professor Laura McAllister, the event will also feature Akash Paun and Aron Cheung of the Institute for Government, and an expert panel and Q&A session including Mick Antoniw AM, Chair of the Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee of the National Assembly for Wales, Professor Daniel Wincott and Dr Ludivine Petitin, where the impact of Brexit on the Welsh and UK constitutions will be examined.

Join us to discuss the fundamental changes that Brexit may bring about to the UK, and how devolved powers might be exercised in the future.

All are welcome to this free event, with refreshments provided.
