Cardiff University Imisa Mategwa – Nina Sauti Scholarship 2024

We are delighted to be offering this new scholarship programme thanks to a generous donation by an alumna.
We are offering one scholarship, worth £10,000, to study a full-time master's programme at Cardiff University starting in September 2024.

Award

This scholarship will be given in the form of a tuition fee discount and is non-transferable. No cash alternative will be offered.

Please note that this scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship and is only available for Cardiff University postgraduate programmes beginning in September 2024. Cardiff University reserves the right to interview shortlisted candidates.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for this scheme, candidates must:

  • be female
  • be domiciled in Sub-Saharan Africa
  • have applied to study an eligible postgraduate programme at Cardiff University
  • be classed as an overseas student for fee-paying purposes

Applicants must pay their course deposit by the deadline stated in their offer letter to be eligible for this scholarship.

Eligible programmes

The programmes eligible for this scholarship are:

  • Computational and Data Journalism MSc
  • Digital Documentaries MA
  • International Journalism MA
  • International Public Relations and Global Communications Management MA

Other criteria

Applicants who defer their studies cannot defer their scholarship.

Scholarships will be given in the form of a tuition fee discount. Due to strict UK Visas and Immigration regulations, you must be able to show you have sufficient funds to cover the remainder of your tuition fees, as well as adequate living expenses. You will need to be able to demonstrate this to obtain a visa to enter the UK.

Applications must be submitted via our online form by 23:59 (UK time) 31 May 2024.

  2. What experience and skills do you have that will make you a suitable candidate for the Cardiff University Imisa Mategwa – Nina Sauti Scholarship? (250 words maximum).
  3. Please outline how this scholarship will assist you in the future. (250 words maximum).
  4. Please demonstrate your awareness of the contribution that you can make to the development of journalism in Africa as a result of obtaining your Cardiff University qualification. (250 words maximum).
