Inclusive Urban Planning For Improved Health Outcomes In Informal Settlements

My PhD research focusses on community-generated platforms for public participation in spatial governance, particularly with regards to urban planning. It interrogates the discursive practices on participation within these spaces against the normative and theoretical prescriptions while assessing whether participation, as configured and practiced, can enable the inhabitants of the informal settlements realise improved health outcomes.
