Examination of the uterus and of foetuses found in utero were used to show that otters in England and Wales do not exhibit seasonal breeding.
Typically, pregnant females carried two foetuses; a maximum of three foetuses were found, in just 3/18 cases (Chadwick and Sherrard Smith, 2010).
