MedTRiM is a pro-active, peer delivered cognitive based resource for all medical staff and clinical leaders who are at risk of experiencing the effects of trauma and exposure to stress within a medical work setting.

The course involves a series of interactive sessions that provide delegates with a framework for spotting the early signs of stress and gain the tools to implement a stress management strategy following a distressing event.

Dr Mark Stacey, Associate Dean for New Initiatives, Wales Deanery, and experts from DNA Definitive, adapted the trauma risk management (TRiM) course currently used by the military for use within the Medical profession leading to the creation of MedTRiM.

This 1 day course consists of two sessions, the first session is about stress and its management. You will learn about TRiM; what it is and what it’s not, stress and traumatic stress and the risk factors. In session 2 you will learn how to conduct a TRiM assessment, actively listen to others, improve communication and learn about methods of self-help. There will be group discussions, case studies and much more.

Dr Mark Stacey says

“Medical linked work place trauma should be confronted like any other challenge, by developing the skills and mechanisms to overcome it and by learning “anti-fragility” processes which get stronger as they are tested”

If you want to improve your resilience, improve your performance, manage high stress levels and learn strategies to support both you and your colleagues following a distressing event then this course is for you.
