Cardiff School of Chemistry has been ranked in the world's top 150 Chemistry departments in a recently released prestigious international league table.
The 2014 Academic Ranking of World Universities, published earlier this month, also lists Cardiff in the UK top 20.
The data, released by the Centre for World Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, have been published since 2003 and are recognised as a benchmark of international university performance.
Professor Rudolf Allemann, Head of the School of Chemistry said: "This recognition of the increasing standing of Cardiff Chemistry reflects the dedication of our staff in providing a stimulating programme for students, and in creating an internationally-leading centre for chemistry research".
