Celebrating Excellence Awards 2014
26 Chwefror 2015
Over the past five years Lee has voluntarily organised and represented researchers within the School of Biosciences and the University, the South West and Wales region and the UK to ensure that their opinions and issues are heard by relevant decision makers. He set up the South West and Wales RSA (Research Staff Association) region and established Cardiff University RSA (CURSA). Lee's work has provided researchers with an important mechanism to interact with University management and has also provided an opportunity for Cardiff researchers across all disciplines to liaise with each other.
Lee was nominated for the Award by European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute colleague Dr Victoria Marsh Durban, who said:- "Not only is Lee an excellent scientific researcher, he has gone above and beyond his normal duties to represent Cardiff University at a national level. He has raised the profile of Cardiff by assisting other universities and schools to establish their own local RSAs, based on the successful model of CURSA. "In recognition of this, I wanted to put him forward for the Award and I'm delighted that the University felt that he was a worthy winner," she added.
