Plants for life at Biology Rocks
11 Hydref 2014
The bee research team from PHRMY attended the BBSRC supported 'plant for life' at the Biology Rocks Event.
Prof Les Baillie, Dr Lovleen Tina Joshi and James Blaxland (The 'Bee' Team) attended the 'Biology Rocks' Event at the National Museum of Wales on Saturday 11th October. The event which was lead by the School of Biosciences highlighted the importance of plants to our everday lives. Bees represent an important component of this relationship in terms of pollination and the provision of honey.
The Pharmacy team chatted to members of the public about the important role that bees have and how we are working with them to discover new drugs which could be used to combat antibiotic resistant bacteria. If you are interested in finding out more about the research and pharmacy bees, we have two hives on the roof of the School, please contact Les Baillie or visit us at the next public event which will be held on 28th October 2014 in the St David's Shopping Centre just outside John Lewis.
