9 Mai 2017
Dr Tom Tatchell, Education and Students Manager for the School of Chemistry, has been named Student Rep Coordinator of the Year at the Students’ Union annual Enriching Student Life Awards.
The Enriching Student Life Awards are an annual award ceremony created to recognise staff and students who contribute to the Cardiff University experience.
The nominations are judged by a panel made up of students, Students' Union staff and University staff. Nominations are judged by the level to which the student(s) experience has been enhanced, the amount of students that have been affected by the staff member, and circumstances in which the member of staff has helped to enhance the student experience.
Professor Damien Murphy, Acting Head of School and Director of Research congratulated Dr Tatchell on the award: “Tom is an outstanding member of staff in our School and I am delighted to see that all his hard work and dedication has been recognised with this award. His work covers the full timeline of university student life, from UCAS days and admissions to timetabling and programme coordinating, all the way through to graduation. Having been a student here himself, he’s familiar with the issues students might face and is committed to providing the best possible student experience.”
