Renewing international relationships

Cardiff Business School has strengthened its international research and exchange ties, with the renewal of its working relationship with Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) in Wuhan, China.

The renewal of the School’s agreement with ZUEL extends the existing relationship and further promotes global higher education cooperation. Students and researchers at both institutions will benefit from enhanced academic and personal development opportunities.

The agreement was signed during a recent visit from Professor Li Yao, Vice President of ZUEL, who met with Cardiff Business School’s Deputy Dean, Professor Mohamed Naim, and Professor Ken Hamilton, Dean (International) at Cardiff University’s College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Focused on postgraduate taught programmes, the agreement will help facilitate the co-creation and hosting of academic conferences and visiting lectureships. The establishment of a summer school programme is also under discussion, as well as a roadmap for future research collaborations. Cardiff Business School already hosts the Centre for China Business Research while Cardiff University’s Confucius Institute was established in 2008.

Professor Martin Kitchener, Dean of Cardiff Business School, said: “We have enjoyed a long and productive association with ZUEL and I would like to thank colleagues for their hard work in developing this important new agreement. We are excited by the prospect of future joint research collaborations and enhanced student and faculty exchange opportunities.”
