Cardiff Business School ranked 6th in the UK
18 Rhagfyr 2014
Cardiff Business School has been ranked 6th in the UK for the quality of its research in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF).
Only Oxbridge and London schools were placed higher among more than 100 business schools in the UK.
With this result, Cardiff becomes one of only two business schools in the UK to be ranked in the top ten in each of the Government’s five assessment exercises since 1992. These outcomes of independent assessment reflect the high public value of Cardiff Business School’s research across a broad range of areas including employment relations, economics, finance, strategy and management.
Professor Martin Kitchener, Dean and Head of Cardiff Business School, said: “I am delighted with the School’s 6th place ranking in REF 2014. This continues our very strong showing as a consistent top ten performer over the last 20 years. The results are testament to the hard work, commitment and innovation of our world leading faculty and they should be justifiably proud of their achievement.
“Research really is at the heart of what we do at Cardiff. It informs our teaching, it influences society, and it makes a real difference to our communities. Our domestic and overseas students experience the value of that rich research, day in and day out.
“I am particularly pleased that our research environment was rated the highest in the UK. This demonstrates to the world that Cardiff Business School is an excellent place to work and study.”
