29 Medi 2016
Cardiff Business School has ranked among the world’s top 100 universities for Business and Economics in the 2016-2017 Times Higher Education (THE) World University rankings by subject.
Placed 93rd, this also puts the School among an elite group of just 15 UK universities to appear in the list.
Ranked above many of its UK counterparts in several areas, including industry income, citations and research, the league table covers academic prestige and research excellence as well as the teaching environment with an emphasis on the undergraduate experience.
Commenting on the rankings, Professor Martin Kitchener, Dean of Cardiff Business School, said: “This is an excellent result and a testament to the quality of our teaching and the impact of our outstanding research. We are home to almost 3,000 students and are proud of our diverse and international community.
“While we will celebrate this ranking, we aren’t complacent. We are an ambitious School focused on delivering continuous improvement across our range of activities, to the benefit of students and staff. We are also determined to revolutionise business and management education in the UK and have adopted a bold new strategy to deliver Public Value. This means directing our resources and actions to tackling some of the grand challenges we face, ensuring that we stimulate social improvement alongside economic improvement.”
Cardiff Business School has a long history of success. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) it ranked 6th (out of 101 business schools in the UK) for the quality of its research and 1st for research environment. It is also one of only two schools to be ranked in the top 10 of each Government research exercise since 1992.
