Cardiff moves up world university rankings

Cardiff University has moved up 13 places in the 2014 QS World University Rankings.
The league table, published today (00.01hrs Tuesday 16 September), shows Cardiff is now ranked 123rd in the world, rising from 136th in 2013.
The university has climbed 20 places over the past two years, moving it back into the world's top 125 institutions for the first time since 2010.
Data confirm growth in Cardiff's academic reputation and the University's standing as a destination for international students.
Vice Chancellor Professor Colin Riordan said: 'We welcome these findings, but remain focused on our goal of achieving a Top 100 spot in the QS World University Rankings by 2017. We continue to pioneer globally relevant research backed by investment in world-leading staff, high-tech facilities, and the latest equipment to help us realise our vision.'
Over 850 universities are evaluated for inclusion in the QS World University Rankings.
