Thin Ice
10 Ebrill 2013
The Sustainable Places Research Institute has teamed up with the Climate Change Commission for Wales to hold a free screening of the film Thin Ice.
Thin Ice 'The Inside Story of Climate Change' was made to give people from all walks of the life the chance to see the range of human activity and scientific endeavour that is required to help us understand the changing climate.
A joint initiative between Oxford University, Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand) and London-based DOX Productions, the film is based on researchers' visits to four continents and the ocean as they studied changes in the atmosphere, oceans and ice sheets through measurements and computer modelling.
As part of the film's global launch on Earth Day (22nd April 2013) a screening will be held at the University's Beverton Lecture Theatre, Main Building at 17.30 and is one of many taking place around the world.
Places can be reserved at Eventbrite and audiences can get involved with the film on twitter @thiniceclimate using #thiniceclimate or facebook.
