13 Mai 2016
The School of Modern Languages is proud to announce that Dorota Goluch, Lecturer in Translation has been named as ‘Student Rep Coordinator of the year’ at the 2016 Enriching Student Life Awards (ESLA).
The award ceremony, which was a black-tie dinner, was held on Thursday 28 April at the University’s Great Hall in the presence of Pro-Vice-Chancellor Patricia Price.
Competition at this year’s awards was fierce with over 500 nominations received across the 12 ESLA categories.
Dorota was nominated by a number of student representatives including Georgia Smith who spoke about her in a video message during the ceremony.
After picking up her award Dorota said, “The ceremony was extremely well-organised and very glamorous. It was wonderful to hear that students across the University notice and appreciate some of the good work that other students and staff are doing.”
“I was very touched by my nominations and very happy to win the award. I felt it was a recognition of the great partnership between students and staff in the School of Modern Languages and it wouldn’t have been possible without the sterling work of the 17 students from the steering committee, 7 student voice coordinators and all 80 student reps in the School.”
Congratulations to Dorota and everyone else within the School who was nominated in this year’s ESLA. This year’s nominations included Dr Nick Parsons, Deputy Head of School who was shortlisted in the ‘Personal Tutor of the Year’ category and two MLANG students, Georgia Smith and Ieuan Bancroft in the ‘Student Academic Rep of the Year (Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences)’ category.
