Cylchlythyr Chwarter 1 2020
8 Ebrill 2020
In line with Cardiff University policy our facility is currently closed for general access due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We remain keen to continue to give scientific and technical advice, discuss your research plans or provide quotes and financial advice. Click here to contact us.
As we live through these unprecedented times due to the COVID-19 outbreak, with challenges and concerns we could never have envisaged, we wish all of our contacts inside and outside of Cardiff University the very best and look forward to working together in the future.
Successful ISO 9001:2015 reaccreditation
The annual external ISO 9001:2015 audit of our facility was carried out in February and we are delighted to say that we passed all the requirements and have been reaccredited.
This means that our quality management system continues to demonstrate its ability to provide services that consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements. We remain the only UK Multi-Core Facility to have this accreditation, supporting both our Cardiff University and external customers.
Maybe you are a Cardiff University colleague looking for advice on working to this standard? Or maybe you are a business interested in contract work we can do for you to this standard?
Feel free to contact us to find out more.
Think imaging flow cytometry is just for cells? Well it's time to think again!
A common theme across all the research areas was the many advantages of imaging flow cytometry over light microscopy including being much quicker, having greater reproducibility, being quantitative and minimising human error.
Thank you to The University of Exeter and Luminex for holding this event.

Launch of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Auditing Working Group
We are pleased to introduce the new QMS and Auditing Working Group. An initiative across the Cardiff University College of Biomedical and Life Sciences, we have set this up with many colleagues, including from the Centre for Trials Research, Centre for Medical Education, Wales Research and Diagnostic PET Imaging Centre, Research and Innovation Services, Biobank and TeloNostiX. Between us we work to various standards and regulations, including ISO 9001, ISO 17025, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) and the Human Tissue Act (HTA). The Working Group aims to promote collaboration on the standards, offering support and guidance on compliance and regulatory issues as well as on the Q-Pulse QMS system. We held our first meeting in January 2020, and will continue to meet twice a year to discuss external audit findings and solutions, changes in standards and regulations and share best practice.
If you work in Cardiff University to a standard and are regularly audited, are interested in joining us or just in hearing more about what we are doing, please contact us.

Flow cytometry and FlowJo courses
Thank you to those of you who attended the courses in January and March. We will be scheduling more of these very popular courses later in the year and will communicate the dates widely.
Yn unol â pholisi Prifysgol Caerdydd, nid oes modd cael mynediad cyffredinol at ein cyfleuster ar hyn o bryd, oherwydd lledaeniad COVID-19. Rydym yn awyddus o hyd i roi cyngor gwyddonol a thechnegol, trafod eich cynlluniau ymchwil neu roi dyfynbrisiau a chyngor ariannol. Cliciwch yma i gysylltu â ni.
Wrth i ni fyw drwy adeg ddigynsail lledaeniad COVID-19, ynghyd â heriau a phryderon na allem fod wedi’u rhagweld byth, rydym yn dymuno’r gorau i’n holl randdeiliaid ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd a’r tu hwnt iddi, ac edrychwn ymlaen at weithio gyda’n gilydd yn y dyfodol.
Ail-achrediad ISO 9001:2015 llwyddiannus
Mae hyn yn golygu bod ein system rheoli ansawdd yn parhau i ddangos ei gallu i gynnig gwasanaethau sy’n diwallu anghenion cwsmeriaid a rheoliadau’n gyson. Ni yw’r unig Gyfleuster Aml-graidd yn y DU sydd â’r achrediad hwn, sy’n cefnogi cwsmeriaid ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd a’r tu hwnt iddi.
Mae croeso i chi gysylltu â ni i gael mwy o wybodaeth.
Ydych yn credu mai dim ond ar gyfer celloedd y mae cytometreg lif? Wel, mae’n bryd ailfeddwl!
Aethom ni i Weithdy ImageStream® Revolution a gynhaliwyd gan Luminex ym Mhrifysgol Caerwysg ym mis Mawrth. Mae’r astudiaeth o gelloedd drwy ddefnyddio cytometrydd llif delweddu ImageStream® er mwyn cefnogi ymchwil oncoleg ac imiwnoleg yn hysbys iawn. Fodd bynnag, bu’n hynod ddiddorol clywed am ddefnyddio’r dechnoleg hon ar draws cymaint o feysydd ymchwil wyddonol eraill, o ddosbarthu paill mewn gwaddodion pyllau trefol i nodweddu gronynnau mewn rhew rhewlifol, i ddadansoddi bacteria cwsg mewn samplau o fwyd wedi’i rewi.
Un thema gyffredin ar draws yr holl feysydd ymchwil oedd manteision niferus cytometreg lif dros ficrosgopeg olau, gan gynnwys bod yn llawer cyflymach, yn llawer haws ail-greu canlyniadau, ac yn ansoddol, gan leihau gwallau dynol cymaint â phosibl.
Diolch i Brifysgol Caerwysg a Luminex am gynnal y digwyddiad hwn.
Cysylltwch â ni i ystyried sut gall delweddu cytometreg lif ategu eich ymchwil chi.
Lansio Systemau Rheoli Ansawdd (QMS) a Gweithgor Archwilio
Mae’n bleser gennym gyflwyno’r Gweithgor Systemau Rheoli Ansawdd ac Archwilio newydd. Mae hon yn fenter ar draws Coleg Gwyddorau Biofeddygol a Bywyd Prifysgol Caerdydd ac rydym wedi’i sefydlu gyda llawer o gydweithwyr, gan gynnwys o’r Ganolfan Treialon Ymchwil, y Ganolfan Addysg Feddygol, Canolfan Delweddu Tomograffeg Gollwng Positronau (PET) Cymru at Ddibenion Ymchwil a Diagnostig, y Gwasanaethau Ymchwil ac Arloesedd, y Banc Bio a TeloNostiX. Rhyngom ni, rydym yn gweithio yn unol ag amrywiaeth o safonau a rheoliadau, gan gynnwys ISO 9001, ISO 17025, Ymarfer Gweithgynhyrchu Da (GMP), Ymarfer Clinigol Da (GCP), Ymarfer Labordy Clinigol Da (GCLP) a Deddf Meinweoedd Dynol (HTA). Nod y gweithgor yw hyrwyddo cydweithio ar y safonau, gan gynnig cefnogaeth ac arweiniad ynghylch materion rheoleiddiol a chydymffurfiaeth yn ogystal â System Rheoli Ansawdd Q Pulse. Fe wnaethom gynnal ein cyfarfod cyntaf ym mis Ionawr 2020, a byddwn yn parhau i gwrdd ddwywaith y flwyddyn i drafod canfyddiadau ac atebion o’r archwiliad allanol, newidiadau i safonau a rheoliadau, a rhannu arferion gorau.
P’un a ydych yn gweithio ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd yn unol â safon ac yn cael eich archwilio’n rheolaidd, neu’n ymddiddori mewn ymuno â ni neu gael gwybod mwy am yr hyn yr ydym yn ei wneud, cysylltwch â ni.
Shwmae bob un o gytometryddion llif Prifysgol Caerdydd!
Cofiwch gallwch ebostio neu ffonio (07909 327647) Graham Bottley o InCytometry yn uniongyrchol, yn ogystal a chael cefnogaeth gan Dechnolegwyr CBS Flow, Cath Naseriyan ac Ann Kift-Morgan.
Cytometreg lif a chyrsiau FlowJo
Diolch i’r rheiny ohonoch a ddaeth i’r cyrsiau ym mis Ionawr a mis Mawrth. Byddwn yn trefnu mwy o’r cyrsiau poblogaidd iawn hyn yn ddiweddarach yn y flwyddyn ac yn cyhoeddi’r dyddiadau’n eang.
