Medicines Use Review course converted to online during Covid
29 Gorffennaf 2020
Academics at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences have converted a CPD course from face-to-face provision to online, allowing delegates to attend during the pandemic.
The last few months have been a tough time for training providers; many face to face courses have had to be cancelled and work put on hold. Therefore we're delighted that due to the hard work of the team at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, a recent Medicines Use Review (MUR) one-day course due to run in July 2020 was successfully converted to online teaching.
HEIW originally commissioned the MUR programme as a face-to-face course in July 2019, designed for pre-registration pharmacists. Delegates must pass in order to be eligible to practice Medicines Use Reviews.
Given the importance of the content, particularly in the context of the pandemic, the School of Pharmacy team wanted to run the course without delay, so we worked with them to identify which sections could be pre-recorded and provided as resources for self-learning, and which areas should be taught live online.
The course ran smoothly with 20 delegates, and early feedback has been good. We are currently evaluating the course and hope to run a similar online activity in the future.
If you'd like to know more, keep an eye out for the case study we will be publishing in the coming weeks.
