Getting to grips with COVID-19
24 Awst 2020
Understanding how the immune system responds to SARS-CoV-2 is essential for developing new therapeutics for tackling the virus.
Different approaches are currently underway and research findings across the globe are being reported at an unprecedented pace. Researchers at Cardiff University are part of this global effort.
To support this effort, a community journal club has been established within the School of Medicine, to identify and highlight key research findings for distillation and dissemination to COVID-19 researchers and clinicians at Cardiff University and the University Hospital of Wales, and beyond.
The posted reviews are the opinions of PhD students and early career researchers within Cardiff University School of Medicine, who have voluntarily taken on the work.
The reviews are focussed on: Immune mechanisms that underpin COVID-19 pathogenesis, as well as the latest developments in vaccines, serological assays and antibody responses, virus structure, lifecycle, transmission and innate and adaptive immune responses.
We hope you find them useful.
