PhD student secures European research opportunity
26 Ionawr 2016
Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies PhD Research student Hiu Chan has secured a funded research award at Belgium's largest university KU Leuven.
Cardiff University’s recent collaboration agreement with KU Leuven has created new opportunities to carry out research at one of the oldest and most renowned universities in Europe.
Hiu said, “Being able to visit different universities around the world is a valuable experience. I will be working with Professor Roel Vande Winkel on a project called ‘Siou-Ling Tsien de Perlinghi: history and images’, we aim to investigate the issues of media’s fictional representation of history through a specific case study.
“In addition, it is also my aim to establish a network
connection with the Institute on behalf of the School. I would like to thank both
Cardiff University and KU Leuven for giving me such an exciting opportunity!”
The Mobility Fund supports travel and
subsistence and is open to staff, postgraduate researchers and PhD students.
The research visit can last up to three months.
