Jake Lynch to deliver first research lecture of 2016

Associate Professor Jake Lynch from the University of Sydney will open next year’s Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies Research Seminar Series with a lecture on January 20.
A widely published author in the field of peace journalism, Professor Lynch is Director of the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, an Executive Member of the Sydney Peace Foundation and a Senior Research Fellow of the School of Communication at the University of Johannesburg.
Before taking up an academic post he enjoyed a near 20-year career in journalism, with spells as a Political Correspondent for Sky News at Westminster, as the Sydney Correspondent for the Independent and latterly as a presenter on BBC World Television News.
In addition to his January lecture Professor Lynch has already started working on an analysis of the BBC coverage of the recent Paris attacks and would welcome discussions with interested colleagues.
