CPD opportunities for medicine and healthcare practitioners
17 Chwefror 2020

Continuing professional development (CPD) helps improve the safety and quality of care provided for patients and the public.
As such, CPD is a vital part of a healthcare professional’s career and it’s essential that practitioners and medical staff are given the opportunity to study to best support patients and their families, as well as members of staff.
At the University, we have developed several short courses that are designed and delivered by experts at the top of their fields, tackling some of the most interesting and relevant areas of medical practice and research.
Our CPD offering ranges from standalone postgraduate level modules, to distance learning programmes, and face to face study days and workshops. We aim to provide a wide variety of professional development opportunities, taught by leading clinicians, which are designed to allow you to continually gain new skills and knowledge throughout your career, whilst balancing your existing life and work commitments.

Postgraduate taught standalone modules
The University has developed several modules with the School of Medicine, School of Healthcare Sciences and School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals. These modules can be studied on a standalone basis for CPD, giving you the flexibility to study at postgraduate level whilst managing your other commitments.
These modules have been carefully chosen to ensure they’re suitable to be taught in this way, allowing you to learn flexibly.
Introduction to Dermoscopy is not a course about dermatology only. With well-written learning material, the course connects me with specialists and other colleagues worldwide. By using a web-based platform, the course creates a flexible learning method even during busy practice. Students can get involved in discussions by using computers or smartphones. Tutors are willing to respond in a timely manner, and their feedbacks are constructive. In the live discussion forum, students can communicate with experts directly. As a result, the students can learn when and how to apply dermoscopy confidently. Now I am using dermoscopy in every clinical session.
