Coming Soon – Medical Leadership CPD Programme

Cardiff University and the Continued Professional Development team are proud to announce that we’re introducing a new range of short courses designed specifically for medical professionals.

These workshops will run in September and October 2018, and focus on four areas to support medics and enhance key leadership skills.

Courses are half a day each, and focus on the following areas:

• Assertiveness and Dealing With Conflict

We can be deterred from speaking up by hierarchical structures and personal self-belief. Learn an understanding of when and where to be assertive, without causing conflict. A safe space to practice skills and build confidence.

• Negotiating and Influencing

When you understand the tools and techniques involved in negotiating effectively, you can think differently about what happens in your working life. Learn how to use language and theory effectively to succeed.

• Time Management

Struggling with time management? What are the factors that prevent you from getting things done? Learn techniques to help develop skills and identify/understand your own thought patterns, and how these may currently be holding you back.

• Career Development and CV Building (for women in medicine)

This standalone course is open to women in medicine and focuses on the development of career management skills as well as exploring barriers to leadership roles for clinicians. Identify your individual leadership style and how to adapt it.
