Young Investigator Award 2018

Congratulations to Elena Koudouna, Research Associate in the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences on being successful in achieving the Young Investigator Award 2018.
Elena has demonstrated she has a plethora of extensive research and publications in her area and notably has recently secured a prestigious Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship 2018; focusing on the investigation of new agents to facilitate corneal cross-linking. This gives her the opportunity to conduct two collaborative years at the National University of Colombia in Dr Avilas's laboratory between February 2019 - 2021 followed by one year in Cardiff University mentored by CITER members Professor Keith Meek and Dr Sally Hayes.
The Award will be presented at the forthcoming CITER Annual Scientific Meeting (open) which is taking place between 17-18 September 2018 at the Vale Resort, Hensol at which Elena will deliver a thirty minute presentation on her extensive research that has led to her well-deserved award.
