Find out what you need to do if your visa is refused.
If your visa application is refused, you must carefully check the reason for the refusal.
If you believe there has been an error in assessing your application and submitted documents, then you can request that the decision is reviewed by an entry clearance manager. This process is called an Administrative Review.
Only the application and documents submitted as part of the application will be considered; you cannot submit any new documents at the Administrative Review.
Unfortunately, administrative reviews can take a long time, sometimes as long as 12 months. Consider the timings and whether this will be your best course of action.
If you made your visa application overseas, you have 28 days from the date of the refusal notice to submit a request for an Administrative Review.
The request should be made in writing using the correct form and should state why the reasons given in your refusal notice are incorrect.
If there has not been an error in the decision or if you decide not to pursue an administrative review, you may decide to make a new application. Please note that you will NOT be able to use the same CAS again. Contact the Student Visa Compliance team with your refusal notice and details of how you will address the cause of the refusal to request a new CAS.
