Foundation programmes

This one-year programme is designed to provide students with the academic knowledge, English language competencies and study skills needed to progress to an undergraduate degree programme.

Academic English language modules will help strengthen your English language skills, before you study further modules focused on the relevant skills and knowledge required for undergraduate study.

The programme will develop your ability to understand the progress of your own learning, manage your time, and plan your work. You will become familiar with Cardiff University’s academic standards and wider UK Higher Education academic expectations.

Foundation programmes are available in:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
  • Business

Degree programmes

We will also offer a range of degree programmes*, which will be accessible after completing a recognised foundation programme.

Degree programmes may be available in:

  • Computer Science (BSc)
  • Civil Engineering (BEng)
  • Exploration Geology (BSc)
  • Business Management (BSc)
