COV-ed Nurse: A UK-wide study hearing from student nurses in practice during COVID-19

This 18-month UK-wide research study is currently active and will obtain detailed insights using weekly diaries and in-depth interviews with student nurses across all branches of nursing.
The Wales arm of the study is being led by Cardiff University, School of Healthcare Sciences’s Professor Daniel Kelly, Royal College of Nursing Chair of Nursing Research and Dr Tessa Watts, Senior Lecturer.
Study outcomes
- Identify the factors that help to promote resilience and support during the clinical placements of student nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Map the impact of this experience on their professional identity and future ambitions as Registered Nurses.
- Generate key lessons for nursing pedagogy, practice, and workforce policy across the UK.
