The aim of this module is to provide nurses with the generic core knowledge and skills to work safely and effectively in a community setting.
All community nurses, require an awareness of the current policy drivers that shape the provision of care. They also require a clear understanding of the context of care and the complexities of working with patients/clients in community settings.
This module has been developed to ensure that you are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to work in the community and to provide a firm foundation from which to develop your future specialist practice.
The module will explore the current policy drivers that shape the provision of primary and community care services. There will be opportunity to raise awareness of the context of care and the complexities of working with patients and clients in community settings.
A sign off mentor or practice teacher will be required to oversee the clinical element of this module.
This module is undertaken as part of the PGDip Community Health Studies Specialist Practice Qualification (SPQ) Programme for District Nurses and Practice Nurses.
