Imaging Suite

Our fully equipped Imaging Suite allows undergraduate and postgraduate students to develop skills in image interpretation and reporting, patient positioning and image appreciation.
The simulation of radiographic positioning provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to gain confidence before their clinical placements.
The suite also has a controlled area environment which is used for third year research projects on image quality and radiation dose assessment.
Equipment
Equipment in the suite includes:
- a functioning X-ray tube and table including an upright bucky
- a Computed Radiography system linked to the in-house Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) for the imaging of phantoms
- uigh definition reporting monitors used to assess images captured with our equipment
- ultrasound machines.
