An annual awards afternoon to celebrate our ongoing partnership with clinical placement colleagues across Wales.
The event is held every year and is aimed at giving thanks to all mentors, educators and senior managers who contribute to enhancing the educational experience for our students and preparing them for the world of professional practice.
Reach
Placement education is an essential part of student learning across all nine of our undergraduate health professions, influencing over 2000 students at our School.Over 300 guests have attended the events over the years, with prizes awarded to students, teams and mentors who show outstanding achievement in placement education within their profession.
Recognising best practice in this area through newsletters and direct communication with local health boards further disseminates their work nationally.
Impact
Our School of Healthcare Sciences is the only one in Wales to hold an event to honour those who have made an outstanding contribution to practice education. These educators have made an impact on students and ultimately have a positive influence on the care of patients and clients.
Professor Dianne Watkins, Deputy Head, International and Engagement, School of Healthcare Sciences commented ‘This event is a celebration of the School of Healthcare Sciences’ partnership with practice and the excellent opportunities and support offered to our students throughout the many health and social care environments across Wales.'
