Each year we are delighted to welcome students from over forty different countries to study with us.
We understand the challenges you face when living and studying overseas for the first time and our staff are dedicated to ensure you settle quickly and start thriving in our friendly and vibrant community.
We are confident that if you choose to join us here in Cardiff, you will feel at home, motivated to reach your potential, and well prepared for your future career.
Focus on international research
Our research activity has a high impact in shaping relevant policy debates and influencing international agendas. We lead research associated with the development, management and sustainability of cities, regions and rural spaces.
While many of our research projects focus on the UK, our staff carry out research, consultancy and teaching internationally including projects in Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia, India, China, Malaysia, Japan, South Africa, and the Middle East.
English language support
We offer specific in-sessional English language support to help you in your studies, with a number of online self-access materials to help you develop your English for academic purposes. Tuition in grammar, conversation and presentation skills, as well as academic writing are available. Individual tutorials are also available for all students from the English Language Programme team.
This is a unique addition to the pre-sessional English language summer courses provided to students who hold an offer to study at Cardiff University and are looking to improve their English or achieve specific language requirements.
Helping you get here
We work closely with departments throughout the University, particularly the University’s very helpful International Office, to ensure all of our international students are supported throughout the admissions process and receive a warm welcome upon their arrival in Cardiff.
