Routes into Languages Cymru and partner universities are offering a series of film and literature workshops to A level students. The workshops are designed to support delivery of the Modern Foreign Language (MFL) curriculum and aim to improve existing levels of knowledge and understanding for the student.

Through the analysis of key topics, such as main themes and characters, the workshops aim to strengthen the students’ comprehension and generate further discussion and thought. This event also gives teachers the opportunity to obtain information from the HE tutors whilst establishing links with the university.

Synopsis: El Bola, a 12 year old boy a.k.a. “Pellet” is a 12 year old boy raised in a violent and sordid environment. Embarrassed by his family life, he avoids becoming close to classmates. The arrival of a new boy at school changes his attitude towards his classmates, and friendship. The heart of the story is the change in El Bola’s life, at almost all levels, after befriending this new classmate.
