Facilities
Mae'r cynnwys hwn ar gael yn Saesneg yn unig.
We have a range of first-class facilities designed to meet student needs and provide a space for our business partners and stakeholders to use.
School teaching and research space is divided across three adjacent buildings – the Aberconway Building, the Julian Hodge Building and the most recent addition, the Postgraduate Teaching Centre.
Aberconway Building
The Aberconway Building is the heart of Cardiff Business School. It houses teaching space – seminar rooms and lecture theatres – as well as academic offices and a café. You will also find the Careers and Employability centre on the first floor and the Undergraduate Hub.
Julian Hodge Building
In addition to a large lecture theatre and refectory, the Julian Hodge Building offers a resource centre with 136 networked computers loaded with a wide range of software packages, statistical packages and databases.
Postgraduate Teaching Centre
The £13.5 million Postgraduate Teaching Centre opened in late 2014 and provides a working and community space for our full-time students and professionals attending short-courses or participating in our Executive Education programmes.
The showpiece building offers a large central atrium with coffee shop and seating areas ideal for group collaboration, networking or unwinding between lectures. Here, you will also find the donor wall which lists those who have supported the development of the centre. Current sponsors include Panalpina, Boyes Rees, KPMG, ISG and Market Squared.
Learning environment
The centre offers two marquee lecture theatres (with lecture capture facilities), 12 flexible and reconfigurable seminar/teaching rooms, two postgraduate common rooms, the fully-equipped and self-contained executive education suite and our flagship trading room.
Our 56-seat capacity trading floor, the largest in Wales, provides you with the opportunity to gain the practical skills required for life at the stock exchange.
Each terminal offers Market Squared's Volcube platform and Global Investor Simulations’ Finance Lab Professional platform allowing you to learn about trading and risk management in a controlled environment.
Arts and Social Studies Library
Our library collection, dedicated to the business disciplines, is located in the Arts and Social Studies Library. The collection holds multiple copies of key textbooks and over 60,000 books in total. It subscribes to around 1,800 national and international journals, e-books and newspapers and is staffed by librarians with expert subject knowledge.
