Pharmacy Workforce Planning
Strategic workforce planning is central to the delivery of healthcare services.
Chief Pharmacists and Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) aspire to equip pharmacy professionals with workforce planning skills to enable them to plan better for services across all sectors of the NHS.
The specific objectives of this study are to explore and report on:
- whether and how the participating pharmacists apply the six-step method to planning practice
- whether there is a detectable impact on transforming pharmacy services from using the workforce planning method
- what needs to be changed to improve outcomes
- how could learning from this exemplar be used by other professional groups.
This evaluation draws on data from one-to-one interviews and focus group discussions.
