Because why should something so useful go to waste?
Why coffee grounds?
They’re surprisingly useful in the garden. Rich in nitrogen, they’re great for composting and giving your soil a nutrient boost to help your plants thrive.
Here’s some of the best ways you can use them at home:
- Fertilising your plants: mix the used grounds into your soil or compost to add valuable nutrients to keep your plants happy and healthy.
- Natural pest repellent: the strong smell of coffee acts as a repellent to many bugs, scattering a light ring around your plants can act as a gentle barrier.
- Make coffee candles: love the smell of coffee? Make the grounds into a DIY candle, find out how to make them here.
- DIY scrubs: the texture of coffee grounds works great as an exfoliator for your skin, all you have to do is mix it with a bit of water or coconut oil.
- Use as an odour neutraliser: pop a bowl of used coffee grounds in your fridge or cupboard to neutralise smells.
So look out for our boxes filled with bags of coffee grounds in our cafés, they’re free to take
