China trips
Each year, in collaboration with our partner Xiamen University, the Cardiff Confucius Institute organises trips to China for its students.
Over the years we have successfully organised trips for our adult learners and university students as well as school pupils through our Confucius Classroom partners. Usually trips are two-weeks in duration with time split between Xiamen and one other major city. The trip is an opportunity to travel, to learn and practice the language first-hand, and to experience life on a university campus.
Students are required to cover the costs of their visa and return international air fare. Once in China, all expenses are covered by Xiamen University and the Confucius Institute. Please contact us for information about upcoming trips and how to get involved.

In April 2019, a group of 15 students took part in the Confucius Institute China Trip. They spent ten days living on the Xiamen University Campus, learning Chinese and experiencing life as a student in China.
Following their time in Xiamen, they visited Shanghai for three days during which they undertook sight-seeing activities and put into practice their newly acquired Chinese vocabulary. You can watch the video of their trip below.
