Venue and travel
The main venue of the PLPR2025 conference will be the Postgraduate Teaching Centre (PTC), located at Colum Road, Cathays, Cardiff, CF10 3EU.
PhD workshop
The PhD workshop will be held in the Committee Rooms in the Glamorgan Building, located at King Edward VII Avenue, Cardiff, CF10 3WT.
How to get to Cardiff
Cardiff is easy to reach whether you are travelling by train, bus, car, or airplane.
The nearest airport is Cardiff Airport (CWL), which is about 12 miles from the city centre. Aer Lingus, KLM, and Ryanair are some of the airlines with flights to/from CWL. However, you can also consider flying to/from:
- Heathrow Airport (UK's biggest airport) – around 2:30 hours to Cardiff Central by train (via London Paddington station – bookable on thetrainline) or 3-4 hours by bus (operated by National Express and Megabus).
- Bristol Airport – around 1:30 hours to Cardiff Central by direct bus (operated by National Express and Megabus) or you can go to Bristol city centre and take a bus or train to Cardiff.
- Birmingham Airport – around 2:30 hours to Cardiff Central by train (via Birmingham New Street station – bookable on thetrainline) or 3-4 hours by bus (operated by National Express).
If you are travelling from mainland Europe, please also consider travelling via Eurostar trains.
