PhD workshop

The PhD workshop will take place on Monday 3 March 2025.

The workshop aims to include PhD students at any stage, whose research is relevant to the intersection of planning, law, and property rights. PhD research should be interdisciplinary across two out of three PLPR’s (International Academic Association on Planning, Law, and Property Rights) themes.

Highlights

  • receive mentoring from experienced researchers
  • clarify key questions about your PhD project
  • meet and network with other PhD students from the PLPR community

Application procedure

The PhD workshop is an extension of the PLPR Conference, not a stand-alone event. Only PhD students whose abstracts are accepted for the main PLPR conference are eligible for the workshop. Students should submit an abstract for a regular paper for the PLPR conference.

Additionally, students should submit a short description of their PhD research project (max. 3 pages) after their regular abstract has been accepted before 20 December 2024 via ConfTool. The description should include the problem setting, research question(s), hypothesis, theoretical background, research methods, status of the research, and problems faced (if any).

Acceptance for the PhD workshop will be communicated by early January 2025. To participate in the PhD workshop, you must register for the conference. There is no additional fee for the workshop.

If you have any questions regarding the PLPR2025 PhD workshop, you can contact PLPR PhD coordinator Josje Bouwmeester (phd@plpr-association.org).
