Contributions
Presenting at a conference is a key part of communication for any researcher or academic and a chance to learn about the newest developments in your research field.
Traditionally, there have been a range of activities during Burwalls, such as:
- lightning talks of 1-4 minutes
- short and medium academic presentations (after submission of an abstract) by biostatistics teachers and clinicians
- keynote talks
- workshops
- discussion sessions of topics relevant to biostatistics, medical statistics teaching, and career development.
We are keen to involve and encourage new postgraduate and postdoctoral teachers and newly appointed lecturers who are at the start of their teaching careers. A poster session might occur if numbers are sufficient.
Please let the organisers know if you have any suggestions or ideas for activities in this area.
Abstract submission
Please submit your contribution to Burwalls 2021 by email using the Burwalls Abstract Submission form and submit it to the contacts listed below.
We encourage submissions on the themes of:
- developing teaching methodologies
- innovations in teaching
- carrying out research or consultation as a statistics lecturer
- career and professional development
- other ideas are also welcome
If you would like to discuss any ideas about a contribution to the webinar this year, please get in touch with the contacts below. There will be a prize for best and second best contribution.
