Creating climate change champions of the future in South Wales
As the climate crisis becomes more urgent and prominent, individuals, communities, governments, and businesses are increasingly aware of the need to act.
However, the complexity of the subject, rapidly evolving jargon, and poorly planned climate interventions are major barriers to developing sustainable and responsible strategies to tackle the crisis.
Climate literacy involves building awareness of the climate problem and developing knowledge of approaches to climate mitigation including educating, communicating and probing attitudes, behaviours, and activism.
This project works with Cardiff West Community High School to develop an environmental literacy network and educational resources. Students will produce a carbon budget for their school as part of their investigations, and through collaboration with the Community Interest Company, Zero Carbon 2030, consider how to use carbon financing.
