Grangetown Careers and Role Model Week 2024
Delivering a ‘step change’ to our annual Career and Role Model week initiative to include new collaborations between multiple higher and further education partner institutions.
This project delivered a ‘step change’ in Community Gateway’s annual Career and Role Model Week initiative by funding the expansion of the event to include new collaborations between multiple higher and further education partner institutions, including Cardiff and Vale College, The Open University in Wales, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff Metropolitan University, and the University of South Wales).
Over 200 visitors engaged with over 50 further and higher education stalls, hands-on activities, talks, and presentations covering a range of subjects from Healthcare, STEM, and the Arts to careers with South Wales Police and the Army. Over 21 academic Schools from Cardiff University and Professional Services departments (Human Resources, Widening Participation, Advice and Money, and Library Services) attended.
Attendees signed up for multiple university and college campus visits across the city, including a trip to Cardiff University's Centre for Student Life, where families toured facilities and participated in several activities run by academic staff.
The fund also supported a 6-week pilot of family events at Grange Pavilion, with each partner institution leading a weekly session.
