Cathays Futures
This pilot project tested innovative approaches to knowledge mobilisation and co-production through combining research, professional expertise and lived experience of community members through the creation of ‘Future Labs’.
Future Labs involved engagement with civic partners and residents in Cathays, including members of the SPARK - our Social Science Research Park based in Cathays, third sector organisations and the public sector to reimagine and begin to create socially just futures for the area focussed on wellbeing.
The project engaged with 26 community stakeholders to co-design project's activities. Focus groups took place in the summer of 2024 with follow-up evaluation session to measure the impact of the project.
Our knowledge mobilisation techniques will be shared post-project to connect evidence with grassroots community action, and demonstrate how our researchers can directly connect their knowledge with communities to achieve meaningful social change.
