2025 projects

We delivered a range of innovative projects that worked with local and global communities and partners to address issues around health, the environment, education and the economy.

The projects were supported through the Harmonised Impact Acceleration Account, funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) through six Research Councils.

The fund aims to support research and innovation, trial diverse and innovative ways to support industry, policy, and public engagement, and deepen the impact of previously funded research projects.

This second round of funded projects covered a diverse range of activities, from developing new educational resources for schools in Wales, widening demographic citizen participation in local council consultations, and improving air quality in ethnic minority households to boosting tourism and heritage awareness in one of India’s poorest states.

Fostering empathy for endangered animals through creative writing and drawing

Piloting creative writing and drawing workshops to tackle the global ecological crisis.

Discovering local histories

Improving the delivery and teaching of Welsh history in the new curriculum for Wales.

Producing a toolkit for story co-creation with refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh

Helping practitioners in Armenia who work with children, young people and others affected by conflict to develop new approaches to dealing with trauma and fostering resilience and hope.

The Benjamin Berlin Project: Practices of public remembering in cities in crises

Creation of audio guides and sound pieces to explore alternative practices of public remembering.
