Road Safety
Developing safe routes to school for local children.
The idea
"There are five schools in and around Grangetown, some with very dangerous routes from Grangetown to the school.
We want to map and develop safe routes to local schools and to work in partnership with Cardiff Council to develop road signs which have been designed by local primary school children.
We hope this will help encourage safer driving in Grangetown and raise awareness of the need for everyone to act safely on the roads."
Progress
During Safety Week Community Gateway, in association with Grangetown Community Action, launched a competition in the local schools which challenged pupils to draw the hazards they encounter on the way to school. The winning designs have now been sent to be made into signs which will be displayed outside the pupils schools.
