This half-day seminar will bring together leading academics and external stakeholders to examine how the development of ‘smart cities’ and related tools such as big data, connected sensors and cognitive computing can help to understand and tackle urban challenges.
Speakers include: Professor Chris Rogers, Birmingham University, Professor Duncan Wilson, UCL Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, Professor Elena Simperl, University of Southampton, Professor Peter Madden and Professor Rob Huggins, Cardiff University, and Isabelle Bignall, Chief Technology Officer at Cardiff City Council.
Speakers and panellists will look at the impact of smart technology on three thematic areas:
- The Productive City
- The Inclusive City
- The Resource-Efficient City.
The session will help shape our Future Cities research.
