IAA 10-year Anniversary Celebratory Showcase Event

Since 2015, Cardiff University has received over £13 million in funding from the UKRI Impact Acceleration Account (IAA). Our current set of harmonised UKRI IAAs, encompass £6.2 million in funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Medical Research Council (MRC) and Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC). To date, over 450 impact projects have been supported by our harmonised UKRI IAA, with over 500 partnerships created with non-academic partners and communities.

To mark the 10-year anniversary of our UKRI IAA, Cardiff University is hosting a Celebratory Showcase Event on 20th May 2025 from 9:00-18:00. Held at the Bute Building, the event will feature panel presentations from IAA award holders, discussions and breakout sessions. It will also include the Celebrating Impact Awards, which recognises the outstanding contribution of our researchers and their partners.

Refreshments and food will be available throughout the day, and live music will be provided from 5pm by Cardiff University Student Union.

We also encourage staff to either self-nominate their work or nominate a colleague who deserves recognition in the ‘Celebrating Impact Awards’. To do so, please read the Application Guidance carefully, and complete the Impact Prize Application Form. The deadline for submission is 16.00 on 18th April 2025.
