Special Collections and Archives

Cardiff University’s Special Collections are a hidden gem – full of rare books, landmark documents and undiscovered stories. Find out how archives and special collections can be used to create content for social media, podcasts, creative productions and more.

Work with experts in tech and rare books to decode historic texts using new and emerging digital techniques, including artificial intelligence. Explore unique collections, learn how to handle rare and fragile materials, and have a go at creating content that tells a gripping story about the past.

This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of humanities taking place 7-16 November 2024. Being Human is led by the School of Advanced Study at the University of London, with generous support from Research England, in partnership the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
