Dr Dimitra Ntzani (Welsh School of Architecture, Antonio Capelao (Welsh School of Architecture, Architecture For Kids Community Interest Companies), Sandra Hedblad (Building Environment Trust) and Dr Stella Mygdali (Newcastle University) would like to invite you to Building Environment Trust on 22 June 2024, to join our Thinking Walks and Visual Activisms in Gentrified Soho workshop as part of the London Festival of Architecture (LFA).
The London Festival of Architecture is a month-long celebration of architecture and city-making, taking place every June across London. This year it celebrates 20 years of organisation and invites us all to Re-Imagine the cities we live in.
“In a time of climate and cost of living crisis, social injustice and inequality, our role as active citizens has never been more important. While the idea of resetting or restarting is impossible, we find ourselves at a point where we need to reflect, rethink, repair and rebuild and reimagine” LFA website
The workshop invites participants of all genders and particularly those that identify as women to reflect on and redefine femininity while exploring Soho, a neighbourhood grappling with inclusivity amidst hegemonic gentrifications.
